PM Serramenti and eco-friendly painting.
Painting is the most sensitive department for PM Serramenti in terms of sustainability. This is where part of the technical, scientific, and economic commitment to research and development of increasingly sustainable fixtures and fittings is concentrated.
The automatic arm of the technological system takes center stage in the painting booth. The anthropomorphic robot contributes to the automation of the entire production process introduced by Industry 4.0, which stands out in the company for its eco-sustainability.
In fact, all departments—from sanding to wood painting—are connected to extraction systems that convey fine dust to filtering substations. The dust remaining at the end of the filtration process is treated as waste and disposed of. The new system has enabled the company to eliminate the emission chimneys of the painting department from the factory, but while they were in operation, they emitted quantities of dust below the levels required by the Lombardy Region.
PM Serramenti is now a zero-emission company.
The extraction, filtration, and abatement system not only protects the external natural environment, but also the internal working environment. Any paint that does not adhere to the wood surface will never come into contact with the painting system operator.
After all, PM Serramenti's focus on creating eco-sustainable production sites dates back to 1990, when it began using water-based paints. The presence of a solvent content of no more than 10% minimizes the spread of fine dust in the air. Yet, the company's research into the composition of the most environmentally sustainable painting products has never stopped. Every year, part of the investment funds exclusive laboratory tests for the development of paints with the lowest environmental impact. The goal is to paint all the internal parts of the fixtures with a zero-emission product that makes them recyclable at the end of their life.
Because true environmental quality is about keeping promises, and PM Serramenti only promises what it measures.
